Happy Time with McDonalds Halloween Pails

A few weeks ago I mentioned how McDonald's U.S. restaurants are donating proceeds from Happy Meal and Mighty Kids Meal sales to Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC.) I also mentioned the online campaign, "Make Family Time Happy Time." Through this website, families can get ideas for how to spend time together, and for every minute pledged, McDonalds will donate a penny to RMHC, with the goal of reaching $10,000 to use towards family time activities for RMHC guests.

Well, in honor of Halloween, there is another reason to purchase Happy Meals: Halloween Pails!

Some of you may remember these pails from your youth. They were last sold in 2001, so many of our kids haven't seen them before. The version this year features Mr. Potato Head and comes with a handle that doubles as a skeleton or pumpkin mask.

Well, when my kids saw them, they were definitely excited. My youngest used the stickers not just for the pail, but also to create a Halloween card for my parents (heart swoon!)

Plus, each Happy Meal has a McWorld code in it. Right now, McWorld has a Monster Lab, you can go Trick or Treating in McWorld, or you can unlock a virtual Halloween costume - fun!

Of course I'm not going to keep all the pail-fun to myself. You can get one yourself by purchasing a Happy Meal, or you can win one of five (5) here, along with a coupon for some free apple dippers!

To enter the drawing to get a Halloween Pail and coupon for free Apple Dippers:

1) Enter a comment below. For your first comment, answer the question "What was your favorite Halloween costume from a year past?" For subsequent comments, tell me something about your Halloween memories, like your favorite candy to receive or how late you keep your lights on for trick-or-treaters. You can leave one comment per day through Monday, October 25th at 6pm Pacific.

2) You may tweet about this giveaway for one extra entry per day. Recommended format is "I entered to win a Halloween Pail and Apple Dippers from McDonalds and @KariDahlen : http://ow.ly/2XupW " Then just comment below with the URL of your tweet.

I'll select 5 (five) winners via random.org and email them to obtain their shipping address (Please make sure your comment includes your email address!) McDonalds will then fulfill the prize using the addresses the winners provide. Good Luck!

If you don't win, no fear - you still can get a pail just by purchasing a Happy Meal. Besides, the McDonalds Monopoly game is still going on, so now you have at least two reasons to visit McDonalds. Of course, the third reason is the donation to McDonald House Charities.

Thank you - comments are now closed!

Julie L:

One of my favorite costumes were the ones my dh and I wore-Frankenstein and his bride
thanks

My favorite costume for me was when I was a bag of Jelly Beans at like 8 or 9. It was so simple and no one else had one so I felt really special. All it consisted of was a white trash bag, tons of blown up balloons and white face paint, but I was the best dressed kid in our neighborhood!!

Thanks for the chance

renee:

My favorite costumes were the ones my best friend and I wore when we dressed up as a cat and a mouse for a Halloween party.
