Just Eyewear is More than "Just" Simple and Stylish

Just_Eyewear.gifOne of my kids stepped on my glasses. Or maybe they sat on them. Or perhaps it was a space alien who stretched them out with his enormous bulbous head. Whatever the cause, my poor eyeglasses were bent out of shape. But, because they were fancy ($400) and my insurance only covers one pair per year, I kept wearing them, cursing each time they'd slip off my face as I bent to pick up the newspaper.

Fortunately, I was contacted by Just Eyewear to review the process and resulting product of ordering eyeglasses online. This no-risk proposition was definitely too good to pass up, especially because I love trying on new looks, and thought it would be fun to purchase something I wouldn't ordinarily, knowing that I can always buy something else through my insurance later this year.

Well, Just Eyewear didn't disappoint.

I've bought contacts online before - both using a doctor's prescription and (shhh!) getting plano (non-prescription) colored contacts. Since contact lenses have very specific numbers as to size, I was confident that I'd get what I needed. (My iris is very large, so "generic" contacts would be dangerous for me, or at least would have a high probability of popping out of my eyes.) Indeed, straight out of the box, I could see perfectly. (Well, except for the planos, of course - but they fit my eyes properly and turned them blue!)

Eyeglasses, though, seem so personalized. After all, one frame can look hip and attractive on one person, but downright nerdy (without being ironic) on another person. I usually sort through dozens of pairs before I find the one I like. Plus, how would I know whether the glasses would be so small they'd pinch me, or so large they'd slip off my face?

Well, I didn't realize that eyeglasses frames have numbers, too. It sounds pretty obvious, doesn't it? But I just hadn't noticed that my existing glasses have little numbers in them that describe the lens width, bridge size, and temple length. Suddenly I realized that I could pick out glasses that would actually fit my head (rather than that aforementioned alien's.)

As for the style of frame, I wanted to just go for it! I knew what I've liked in the past, so selected something similar, and yet different enough to be exciting. I was really surprised at how low the prices are at Just Eyewear in comparison to the stickers I see at my local optometrist's office. I searched for the right sized frame for me, and selected my favorite.

I was already armed with my prescription, so just copied the numbers into the boxes online. I didn't have my pupillary distance, but was able to measure it myself thanks to the directions Just Eyewear provided. I selected thin polycarbonate lenses knowing that otherwise I'd end up with pretty thick lenses! Even with these more expensive lenses, my whole purchase totaled only $48.

(Check out Guide to Buying Glasses Online and How to Choose a Frame for more information.)

I was eager to see whether the eyeglasses were of the same quality as my glasses ten-times the price. I must admit being shocked and thrilled when my new glasses arrived to discover they look and feel just as sturdy and stylish as my expensive ones. I was also pleasantly surprised to put them on to find they fit me perfectly. (How many times has an optometrist had to alter your frames so they actually fit? For me, plenty of times!)

Amazing!

Which do you think are the most expensive? the least expensive?*

I must admit that I am surprised at the ease of ordering and quality of product. The turnaround time on the eyeglasses was phenomenal. I received them a mere two weeks after ordering. Just Eyewear sent out notifications when the order was received (immediately), when the glasses went to production (the next day - and I had ordered at 7pm the night before!), and when the glasses were shipped (10 days - including weekends - after ordering.) They shipped last Friday and arrived Monday.

I'm very glad to have been given this opportunity, and am pleased that I have a discount code to share for YOU to give Just Eyewear a try. Simply enter "SPECTRUM" at checkout to receive 5% off your entire purchase price.
