Light Up Their Lives with Marble Racers

Marble_Light_Logo.jpgMy boys had a very pleasant surprise when they came home from school today. Thanks to Mom Select and LightUp Racers, they had six different marble cars waiting to be decorated, raced, and admired.

Of course when I opened up the package there was a collective "Ooooooh, cool!" as they divvied up which three they each would claim. My eldest chose "volcano," "cat's eye," and "confetti." My youngest chose "fire chief," "police chief," and "cyclone." All six cars are identical; it is the accompanying stickers which determine which identity the racer will assume.

When I first learned about Lightup Marble Racers, I was definitely intrigued because my boys love marbles, they love things that light-up, and they love little cars. In fact, my eldest had a field trip to a science museum a few days ago during which he purchased not a little science-oriented gizmo from the gift shop, but three tiny cars for him and his brother to race. (Sure, there is plenty of science to glean from racing and cars, of course.)

LEDMarbleBoxConfetti.jpgBut I must admit that the "marble" part of the equation threw me a little bit. I wondered if the cars involved loose marbles, and if so, whether my kids would immediately lose them, thus rendering the whole gig inoperable. I was completely wrong. A "marble racer" has a marble inside, but it is inside. The marble provides the trigger for the LED-action.

These racers indeed "light up" thanks to the marble LED, and per the Marble Racers website, the cars will work on 1:64 Hot Wheels / Matchbox tracks.

A kid can never have too many cars, and can definitely not have too many things that light up, so mine are all-smiles.

Fortunately, we're not keeping the excitement and fun to ourselves:

One lucky reader will win all six Marble-Racer varieties!

Contest Dates:
NOW! until 5pm PST on Monday May 10th.

How to Enter:
Just leave a comment on this post (you're allowed one per day, so keep coming back!) You may also earn a bonus entry per day by tweeting about this contest (just leave your status URL in the comments section.) That means a max of two entries per day.

Winner Determination and Prize Fulfillment:

I will use random.org to select a winner out of the eligible entries. I will email the winner shortly after Monday May 10th (so remember to leave your email address in your entries!) The prize of the 6-racer collection of Marble LightUp Racers will be fulfilled by Mom Select, so I cannot be held liable for mis-delivered prizes or other glitches that occur in prize fulfilment. (Of course I'll follow up with Mom Central and Marble LightUp Racers on your behalf out of the kindness of my heart, but cannot replace the prize myself.)

Don't worry if you don't win -- you can pick up your own LightUp Marble Racers at CVS. Stock up for stocking stuffers (don't laugh, the holidays will arrive sooner than you know,) birthday parties, or just "having fun this summer" supplies.

Good luck -- and enjoy the fun!

ETA: Thank you all for entering!

I chose to review these cars because I expected my boys would love them - and they did!
