Ode to Nyquil

nyquil.jpgOh, I am so sick
I cannot say
what I think
of products today.

There are video games my sons like
and vegetables they don't.
There are movies to tell you about.
and soccer balls to punt.

Educational games
will teach my kids math.
Books that I've read
with not one giraffe.

Okay so this makes
no sense, you see.
But that is because
my fog is a mystery.

Oh no, it is not.
Because I took some Nyquil... and we all know that Nyquil-induced dreams are pretty trippy.

But thank goodness for Nyquil,
because otherwise I wouldn't have a lung.
I'd be crying out in pain instead
of cozying up to my blanket for a snug
(gle)

Dear Sweet Readers,
please know I'll be back
but right now
I have a lung to hack.

I just agreed to run
for The Relay
and then promptly got sick
and I haven't run at-all-ay

But I will be back
my voice will not quiver
I'll type up my ideas
without crying a river.

Disclaimer: In reality I wrote this after I was sick, by way of explanation why my review blog was so *chirpy* for awhile. I have reviews for some fabulous products coming up - including the two things I linked above. (The amazon link contains an affiliate code, so I'll get a few cents if you purchase something there after clicking the link.) Nyquil did not ask me to post, nor would they really want their product tied to my poor mock-poetry-writing skills or tales of hallucinations. I purchase lakes of Nyquil using my own dollars. (That stuff is seriously good for when you want to be knocked out!) Then the third link above - eat.blog.run - is an excellent blog for what has recently become "my" team for The Relay. We are a total of 12 runners in a 199 mile relay on May 1st and 2nd. Each of us will run three times. My total mileage will be 18.1, split fairly evenly between my three runs. Wooo! I will receive some free stuff for The Relay, but I also paid to become part of the team.
