And all through the house, not a creature was stirring,
... except for Kari
Seriously:
- the class rats were asleep in their little house
- the actual cat was sleeping on the bed
- the kid Cat was sleeping, no longer squiggling around like he did at 3 a.m.
- the kid Spliggle was snoring
- and Husband was fast asleep
But I couldn't sleep. My mind tried to remind me of what I need to do today. I am going to whiten my teeth (using a kit.) I have some work-related tasks to complete before my very early departure tomorrow morning. I need to print out more business cards and pack my bags. Is my camera-battery fully charged? Will I remember my swimsuit? Oh, and I have a hair appointment today, but since the boys are on Spring Break I have to remember to take them to my mom's house.
Around 6:15, which may not seem early to some of you, I realized I should just get up. After all, I leave tomorrow morning at 5:15, which means I need to be awake by at least 4:30, if not earlier. That will be a harsh wake-up call.
If I had to complain just a tad about the arrangements, that would be my gripe: if an event is going to start mid-afternoon on the East Coast, the West Coast folk need to get up very early to make it out in time. As it is, I will apparently be later than what Camp Baby had instructed. (Our schedule says 6pm, but the travel agency was told we needed to arrive at the airport no later than 2pm. I come in at 3:30pm.) I understand the need for these arrangements given our very special dinner guest, Ted Allen, but that doesn't mean I won't be yawning despite my enthusiasm.
And, maybe I'll look like the photo at right. This morning is a good time to do Sweetney's Self-Portrait Truthiness. Of course I will not have any time to do it tomorrow since I'll be stumbling around trying to remember what I am doing, but I'll probably look like this. Note how the red eyes match the red turtleneck! (Yes, I wore a turtleneck to bed. This photo is legit - I took it immediately after I got up.)
Well, I'd better hop to it! I must decide what not to wear, what to bring, and what to do...
