The Pink House

There is an orangy-pink house in the next town over. It is ugly, but it is part of the town. I think some people would be upset if it went away.

There is also an orangy-pink house down the street from me. I would like it to go away.

It didn't used to be orangy-pink, so it is most definitely not a historical landmark. In fact, just about a year ago, it was freshly painted in dark colors with white shutters. The yard was done professionally with bright flowers. It was beautiful and sophisticated. It went on the market as a fantastic-looking asset to our neighborhood.

But the new owners decided they wanted to paint it orangy-pink. Now the house looks rather faded and unkempt.

Meanwhile, on the other side of town, there was a gold house. It was a nice color of gold, and I didn't have any objection to it, but the home sat on the market for awhile. It sold shortly after it was painted navy. But the new owners painted it...

...gold.

Our house is orange. Slightly rust-y, but definitely orange. Every October I think that we should somehow turn the chimney green and make the whole thing look like a jack-o-lantern. Surprisingly, my husband has yet to act on my totally cool idea.
