In our old house, we had a white kitchen. And, we had a white refrigerator:

When we moved into our new house, I was excited by the granite counter-tops and the sleek black and stainless steel appliances. But... we still had the white refrigerator we brought from the old place:

Well, our friend Whitey finally gave out. After all, do you really want ice-cream soup one day and a frozen block of frost the next? Garlic cubes would melt, but our soda would freeze. We got our first CSA (community sustained agriculture) delivery last Thursday, and both cucumbers froze in the fridge. (Icy cucumbers are good for the eyes, though. Remember those fake cucumber slices one beauty brand used to sell?) Poor husband was sad that the strawberries were frosty. Meanwhile, our ice-cream was still soupy.
Of course I was secretly pleased. I mean, sure, it isn't like I really want to spend money. But ol' Whitey was so... white in my otherwise black and silver kitchen.
And so... (drumroll please!).... I am pleased to announce Black Magic! He's awesome, and fits in our kitchen decor perfectly. I hope he keeps our food nice and cold (but not too cold in the fridge.)

Once you go black, you'll never go back! (Notice that most of the dishes have been done since Whitey left! See, Black Magic is magic after all!)
So microwave, can opener, knife sharpener, and mixer, you are all on notice:

Love it.. When The Beige One died we got to replace the dishwasher too..it ended up being cheaper to buy both than just buy one fridge! We went with the stainless steel.
Next replacement will be the counter tops at our house. I am liking your fancy-schmancy black ones.
